Card Stock Sizing:  6 by 6

1. Line the left edge up at 1 3/8 punch and score then shift left and line up at 4 inch mark.
2. Turn the page a quarter and then line the left edge up at 1 7/8 (or use the score guide and line up the score line), then punch, score then shift left at the 4 1/2 inch mark (or use the score guide and line up the score line).
3. Turn the page a quarter and repeat step one and two.

If you have been following me for a while, or if you are new here, you have probably heard me say that I have to craft on a budget.  It’s very true.  As much as I want to purchase all the things in the catalog it’s not in the budget, so I make do and usually come up with fantastic alternatives to my projects.  Today’s post is a very good example of that.  There is a big shot die on page 41 of the Holiday Catalog that is called the Square Pillow Box thinlit die.  As much as I wanted it, I knew I could make something similar on my own without the fancy thing.  However, if I was to make a lot of these, I probably would have figured out a way to work the budget and bought it.  I may make another size for Christmas gift cards, so stay tuned!  Check out the picture, the video and of course the supply list!

Hiya everyone.  TGIF! I hope you had a great week.  Today’s project looks way more difficult than it is.  I did a lot of math and engineering to make it easy to put together.  I have been sitting on this project for a while I may add…so finally today I am going to share it with you.

Details:

Outter box

• card stock: 5 7/8 by 8 3/8
• Long side: 5/8, 7 3/4
• short side: 5/8, 2 5/8, 3 1/4, 5 1/4
• DSP for the lid is sized at 1 3/4 by 6 3/4

Pen Holder inner bit

• scoring short side first: 1 3/4, 2 1/4, 4 1/4, 4 3/4
• long side: score between the 2 1/4 and 4 1/4 score marks you made at 1/2 inch on both sides (this is the line you cut with your craft knife).
• turn back to the short side and score from the partial score to the partial score you just made.  This is the valley fold that the pen sits in.

Securing edge parts

• card stock 2 by 1 7/8
• score on the long side at 1/2, 1, 1 1/2

Today`s project is a cute box with a permanent ribbon tied in a bow on top of it.  It`s fold flat (even with the bow) and it`s pretty cute.  I liked the unique design and even though it is small it certainly has a lot of personality.  Check it out.

Hello and welcome.  Today’s project is using my favorite tool, the envelope punch board.  Love it.  Not only does it help you make envelopes but it can help you make treat boxes as well.  Check it out.

Directions:

1. With your 6 by 6 inch paper line up the left edge at 2 inches and punch and score.
2. turn 90 degrees to the left and line up at 3.  Punch and score.
3. Repeat step one
4. repeat step two
5. On the same side that you just punched slide the edge to at 4 and then punch and score
6. turn 90 degrees and then measure to the 3 inch and then punch and score
7. turn and repeat step 5
8. turn and repeat step 6
9. Burnish the smaller corners on both sides and then pop back into the envelope punch board lining up the left score line at 1 1/8 and punch to create the pull, repeat on the opposite side.

Inside bottom liner:

• Card stock 3 5/8 by 2 1/8 inches

Wrap:

• Card stock 3 3/4 by 6 3/4
• score on long side only at 1 1/4, 2, 4 3/8 and 5 1/8

Top decorations:

• White layer matting 2 1/4 by 3 5/8
• DSP 2 1/8 by 3 1/4
