They are all so very cute.
Hi Susanne, I like this box, and it was surprisingly easy to make (once I’d watched how you do it) but as it is too small for a standard A6 Card & Envelope here in the UK, I decided to try and resize it. So not being naturally gifted in the box resizing/maths department (especially working in Imperial!) I spent quite a while and a couple of mistakes resizing it last night (you probably would have had it done in a jiffy!) But I now have a very nice Elegant Eggplant version, and this style of box is perfect for me, as I also do quilling, which is three dimensional and I always need boxes for my cards. Now I will just have to try and figure out how to make larger versions for the other sizes of cards I make (have a feeling it may take some time!?!) Thank you for inspiring me! x
Despite being allergic to/phobic of cats – the kittens are adorable (though I’d be absolutely terrified of that gorgeous little bundle of fluff it I was in the same room) and I am sorry to say, he did sort of steal the show! 😉
Hope you have a good week! x
Hi Karen. I really did not even think of you all in the UK who have larger cards. I did try to just make it out of one sheet of 8.5 by 11 inch sheet of paper and that is why only 5 cards fit in it. I am glad you figured it out on your own. I gave that set away to a friend/client who had moved to Vancouver from here as a gift. It’s nice to have a small set around. As for the kittens, omg, after this time I also may be phobic. They are into everything. LOL.
And why would you – I didn’t think of the size either, until I’d made it and realised that our size cards wouldn’t fit (told you measurements are not my strong point!) I still have a very pretty box in your size (I cheated on that one and used patterned cardstock) but I did random stamping on my Elegant Eggplant version, and like you, I always start in the centre, it makes life so much easier. I really love this style of box, it is my new favourite (I say that each week, LOL) I am sure your friend will love your gift, and it’s a good way to still keep in touch with everyone. Your comment about the kittens did make me laugh! Sounds like when the go to their new homes you’ll be relieved and miss them in equal measure!?
That is very true. They are very sweet and I do like having fuzzy butts around but 6 little kitties and a Mama is a bit much in my tiny apartment. I know I am giving them a good childhood but I do have my water bottle spritzer handy if they get too rambunctious. Lol. Sigh. Notice that I have scratches on my hands in the videos….they have wee razors attached to their little bean paws.
See, that’s one of the reasons I am terrified of them! I am such a wuss! That, and the fact they sneak up on you, and then what to sit on your lap and feet, and if you dare move, the claws come out. A relative’s cat, Arnold, used to literally growl (like a dog) to make you do what he wanted, needles to say I was terrified of him! Still, the kittens are cute, from this safe distance!
Right, I’ll leave you in peace to get on with your day, its been lovely ‘chatting’ to you. I am now going to turn in (it’s been a long day) and try and watch TV without falling asleep! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday! x
I’ll comment here that sometimes I do prefer the company of animals over people. Sometimes it’s the two legged monsters with razor sharp claws that I’m more afraid of. We each have our own phobias I guess. Lol.
